An award-winning dentist from Gwynedd has secured funding to open a new specialist dental practice in Bangor.

Dr Mike Hughes has successfully secured £350,000 of funding from NatWest to open a state-of-the-art dental centre in Bangor. Located at Parc Menai, the facility will offer services that are not currently available in North Wales, providing patients in the local area with an alternative to travelling to Manchester or Liverpool for treatment.

Deintyddfa Na-Nóg Dental & Implant Team will offer a wide range of services, including general dentistry, implants, dental hygiene, Invisalign invisible orthodontics, advanced root canal and gum disease treatment and the latest cosmetic dental services.

In addition to providing patients in the area with access to cutting-edge dental services, the opening of the new practice will also create a number of new jobs. Dr Hughes is currently looking to add a dentist, two dental hygienists and three dental nurses to the team.

The practice is set to open in the coming weeks and patients who are interested in booking an appointment or arranging a consultation will be able to contact the team directly in due course.

The two-storey facility will initially house three surgeries as well as a teaching department, which will be open to local dentists and those travelling from further afield. Dr Hughes has ambitious plans to expand, with the addition of two further surgeries in the next 24 months.

Dr Hughes is well-known both locally and nationally. He has worked in North Wales for 14 years and accepts referrals for complex cases from over 30 colleagues. Opening a new practice to add to his Dentistry by Mike portfolio has been a goal for many years and Dr Hughes said that he is thrilled that his vision is coming to life.
