Gravesend dental practice hosts summer fun day to raise money for charity

A dental practice in Gravesend welcomed local families to a charity fun day recently.

The team at Bespoke Dental hosted the event on Saturday 6th July. Invitations were extended to patients, friends, relatives and local residents, with an array of activities and stalls on offer. On the day, the dental team ignored their own advice and sold sweets, glasses of Pimm’s and fizzy drinks to raise money for Smile Train. Stepping away from their usual role of encouraging patients to avoid sugary treats, the team was on hand to provide refreshments, host games and offer a great selection of prizes.

Local businesses and patients had kindly donated prizes for the raffle, which included a massage, cinema tickets and a dental hygiene session.

Smile Train is an international charity that provides medical training and funding for health professionals to enable them to provide free cleft lip and palate surgery for children.

The team decided to donate the proceeds of the charity fun day to Smile Train after stumbling across their work online. The charity does an incredible job transforming the smiles of children all over the world, and it emerged as an obvious choice as soon as everyone read articles, saw images and found out more about the cause and where it is making a difference. Many of the children who receive treatment from Smile Train volunteers would have had no hope of undergoing surgery without the charity, and the work they do genuinely changes lives.
