Gloucestershire Dental Practice Slashes Waiting Time For Patients

A dental practice in Gloucester is slashing waiting times for patients. Genix Healthcare Dental Practice, which opened in Gloucester in 2012, has saved thousands of patients from waiting prolonged periods of time for dental treatment.

Since the practice opened two years ago, 10,000 patients have registered and the surgery has made a massive difference to waiting lists in the region. On bank holiday Monday earlier this week, the surgery also hosted an open day to invite more patients to register.

There is a scope for expansion in terms of patient numbers and the practice is looking to ad thousands more names to the register in the coming months. The open day was part of a drive to alert local people to the services available to them and to reduce waiting lists further.

Barbara Kirk, practice manager, said that prospective patients are very welcome to drop in to the clinic on Station Road at any time and staff members will be pleased to give them a quick tour and answer any questions.

Mrs Kirk added that the practice has space for around 7,000 new patients due to the extensive NHS contract it currently holds and any new patients are welcome to join the register by calling the surgery or popping in.

More than thirty people registered on the open day and the team is hoping to add many more patients in the next year. The practice has already grown considerably since it opened in 2012 and local MP, Richard Graham, was very impressed with the set-up when he visited on the open day.
