Genix Healthcare Take on Apprentice Dental Nurses and Hygienists

Sample News Big

Genix Healthcare has started taking on apprentices to provide young people with career opportunities and encourage youngsters to get involved in the dental profession.

The Gildersome-based company has vowed to take on 100 apprentices in the UK and some have already started working. Kimberley Rose, a 20 year old from Leeds, has started working at the Morley Clinic and said that she has been given an amazing opportunity and has promised to work hard for the next three years in order to become a qualified hygienist. Kimberley was working as a care assistant when she heard about the apprenticeships. She had always been interested in a career in healthcare, but didn’t think she had the relevant qualifications for the post.

Genix Healthcare will offer almost 50 percent of the apprenticeships to young people in the local area. The programme provides training and support for candidates for three years and allows them to gain a Level 3 diploma in Dental Nursing. Sian Nelson-Jones, clinical director at the company, said that it was important to offer young people opportunities, especially as the current economic climate means that it is extremely difficult for many young people to get a job.
