Former shop to be converted into an orthodontic practice in Marlborough

The owner of an orthodontic practice has been granted permission to convert a former retail unit into a new dental clinic in Marlborough.

Paul Greatrex, from Wells Orthodontics Ltd, submitted an application to turn a former shop in Hughenden Yard into a dental practice. The premises were previously occupied by Complete Interiors.

The new practice, which received no objections from Marlborough Town Council, will open between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Friday.

Planning officers based at Wiltshire County Council said that the application had been approved based on the fact that it will bring a “redundant space back into functional use” and ensure the “viability and vitality of the town.” The application was also supported as a means of diversifying the use of premises within the town centre.

Demand for orthodontic care is also high, especially among young people, and having a clinic within easy reach of schools, colleges, and workplaces will make it easier for patients to access services without missing classroom time or valuable work hours.
