Former Conservative party leader Iain Duncan Smith has opened an orthodontics practice in Essex as the Chingford based branch aim to relieve a 3 year waiting in the local area.
The Angel House Orthodontic’s had initially hoped to open their surgery months earlier but were faced with a time consuming legal fight and had two previous plans for surgery sites fall through.
Principle Orthodontist at the Chingford branch, Rehana Yaqoob, said: “The final result justified all the hard work. We had a lot of help and support from all the staff, so it really was a combined effort.’
In after what was described as, a lot of ‘hard work and headaches’, building was eventually completed on a brand new surgery that was designed and constructed to facilitate key dentistry needs.
The construction took just three months to complete and the new Angel House of Orthodontics practice now boasts two new surgeries equipped with improved facilities, such as brand new digital X-ray machines.
The opening will relieve an increasing waiting list in the area which now stretches to over three years; the new practice will become one of the 5 practices in North London which currently staff 20 Orthodontists.
Rehana Yaqoob added: “We made the move over the Christmas period and opened to patients in January. The decorating has been an ongoing process but it’s all finished now.
“There are no immediate plans for more practices; we are very limited by the new contract as to what we can do.”
