Floyd the Neglected Dog Requires Urgent Dental Treatment

Sample News Big

An Old English Sheepdog, that was rescued by an animal charity, requires urgent dental treatment, as well as medical treatment and plenty of tender loving care.

Representatives from the charity said that Floyd represented one of the worst cases of animal neglect they had ever seen. The Old English Sheepdog had been severely neglected and when members of staff from the charity came across him he could not even walk because his nails were so long. Floyd had two stone of matter fur removed from his fragile body and he will be treated by vets and staff at Wood Green over the coming weeks.

When Floyd was rescued he could not see or hear because of the amount of matted fur covering his eyes and ears and he has extensive dental health problems, which will require treatment in the near future. As well as dental treatment, he will also require treatment for his skin, eyes and ears.

Initially, staff at Wood Green said that Floyd was understandably shy and nervous but with the support and love of the staff at the charity, he is starting to come out of his shell and he is getting stronger every day.
