Fire crews were called to Buckingham High Street yesterday after smoke was seen billowing out of the first floor window of a dental practice.

Fire fighters from Winslow and Buckingham arrived at Buckingham House Dental Practice after smoke was seen coming from the upstairs window at around half past three in the afternoon.

Crews used thermal imaging cameras and carried out a thorough investigation of the building and confirmed that the fire had been extinguished promptly. The crews also used carbon dioxide extinguishers and breathing masks.

A spokesman from Buckinghamshire Fire Service confirmed that it was safe and there was no damage. He added that members of staff had made a “timely call” and the fire was brought under control swiftly.

The fire crew said the caller had acted quickly and that this had helped to dampen the impact of the fire.
