Three dental practices in Exmouth are currently taking on new patients.

There have been problems with access to NHS dental services in parts of Devon, including Exmouth, but NHS Devon has launched a high-profile campaign to improve access to services and provide patients with the relevant information to help them register with local dentists.

Andrew Harris, from NHS Devon, said that there are currently 38 practices across the county taking on new NHS patients, including three surgeries in Exmouth, where access has been a problem in the past.

The three surgeries taking on new patients in Exmouth include ADP Exmouth, Fairfield House Dental Surgery and Victoria Road Dental Practice. Patients wishing to join the register are advised to contact the surgeries directly.

According to NHS figures, the number of people receiving NHS dental treatment in Devon has increased by 20 percent; however, some people are still not registered with a dentist because they assume that there are no available places in the county; according to Andrew Harris, this is simply not the case any longer and there are many surgeries accepting new patients. Anyone who has queries about dental services in Devon is encouraged to contact NHS Devon or ring the Devon Dental helpline.
