‘Exciting’ to fix teeth problems

After years of people staring at the gap between his two front teeth, one US journalist has explained how excited she is to be finally correcting the problem.

Leigh Kreimeier wrote in her Stuttgart Daily Leader column: "Although a lot of people tell me ‘your smile is unique’, I just feel that is a nice way to avert the obvious that it is actually extremely noticeable."

She claimed that although the procedure will be painful, it will be worth it in the long run for a beautiful smile.

Ms Kreimeier opted for Invisalign braces which are completely transparent and a common favourite among adults wanting to improve their smile without the "metalmouth".

The Guardian recently reported that orthodontics is accountable for a large proportion of the growing cosmetic dentistry industry.

Claiming there has been a 50 per cent rise in demand for adult braces, Les Joffe, secretary of the British Society of Orthodontists, said the stigma that used to surround wearing braces has largely disappeared.
