An electric toothbrush prompted a 30 minute security search after it started buzzing in a passenger’s luggage.

Security staff were alerted by airport workers after they heard a “strange noise” coming from a passenger’s bag, the bag had been checked in for an AirTran flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Security shut down a section of the North Terminal for 30 minutes while they investigated the suspicious bag, officials cordoned off the baggage area and checked out the bag, only to find that the buzzing was in fact coming from an electric toothbrush, which had obviously clicked on while the passenger was putting the bag on the luggage belt.

Airport staff are used to searching for weapons, liquids and firearms, but they may soon be checking for electric toothbrushes too!
