Eastman Dental Institute to move in 2019

Sample News Big

The Eastman Dental Hospital will move in 2019, it has been confirmed.

The Institute will relocate to Bloomsbury, where it will become part of Europe’s largest hospitals specialising in dental care and ear, nose and throat services.

The proposed move will see clinical research and teaching services relocate to new, cutting-edge facilities in the Rockefeller Building, which is around the corner from the new dental hospital site. Once in its new position, the institute will be nestled right at the very heart of the UCL campus, with easy access to other leading healthcare facilities including University College Hospital and the Macmillan Cancer Centre. Being near to these centres will enable closer collaborative working between departments, which will benefit staff, students, and patients.

In a statement, representatives from the Eastman Dental Institute said that the move would afford students and researchers the chance to enjoy access to first-class facilities, which provide “enhanced opportunities for research and education.”

Research projects that do not involve face to face contact with patients will be moved to UCL’s Royal Free Hospital campus in Hampstead.

The move to Huntley Street, Bloomsbury, has been scheduled for 2019, but an exact date has not yet been revealed.
