Do your homework before going abroad for dental work
Individuals travelling abroad for dental treatment should make sure that they do their homework prior to their trip. Patients need to make sure to check the portfolio of the dentist they are going to use, says the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD). Finding a good dentist is more important than the fees charged for the dental service(s). Patients should check the dentist’s websites to view their work, and to also make sure that it is their work and not generic photographs. Also, you may want to speak to or see some of the dentist’s patients before making your decision to travel abroad for dental treatment. Consumers spent £627million on cosmetic dentistry in the U.K. last year.
