A dentist is hoping to open a new dental practice in Nelson, Lancashire.

Dr Ashraf, of Nelson Centre Dental Practice, has submitted a planning application to change the use of a terraced house in Raglan Street into a new surgery.

If the plans are approved by Pendle Council, a single-storey extension will be added to the rear of the property, creating more space. The existing practice, which is located in Scotland Street, would relocate to Raglan Street.

On the ground floor, there would be one treatment room and a reception and waiting area. On the first floor, the existing bathroom would remain in place and two contamination rooms, a treatment room and a staff room would be added. The extension would be used for storage purposes.

The statement accompanying the plans outlines access points, which will include the front door for patients and staff, and the back door, which will be retained as part of the extension, as an escape route. The back door will also provide access to the bin store.

The practice will open from Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 5pm with a Saturday surgery from 9am until 4pm.
