Dentists have taken to the streets of Somerset to encourage people to use their local NHS dental services.

Olusesan Popoola, from the Blackbrook Dental Practice, was one of the dentists taking part in the campaign; he was joined by colleagues Katherine Foye, Sue Scarlet and Christina Lane. The team set up a ten foot high poster advertising NHS services outside a local branch of ASDA and encouraged passers-by to sign up with their local NHS dentist.

Mr Popoola and the rest of the team chatted to shoppers about their local dental service and encouraged to register; he said that there was no shortage of dentists taking on new patients in the area and urged people to sign up and have a routine check-up as soon as possible. The team are currently promoting the NHS in Taunton and spent last week travelling around Somerset.

Dentists in the area are keen to promote good oral health and are urging patients to visit their dentist for a check-up once every twelve months. Many practices in the area have places are available and registering is very easy. Patients who are interested in registering with a local practice are advised to contact the Somerset NHS Dental Helpline or visit the NHS website; you can also contact the Blackbrook Dental Practice directly.
