Dentistry from the Heart Welcomes 9 Local Volunteers
This month, dentists from Lexington will spend an entire day providing free cleanings, extractions and fillings.
Marking Lexington’s fourth annual Dentistry from the Heart event, Justice Dental will open its doors for free on August 20th, from 9 am to 4 pm. Patients will be served without charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
Justice Dental hygienist Brandi Sparks said that the team feels blessed by the community and the event is their chance to give back and help treat those who struggle to afford dental care. She added that some patients turn up the night before and camp outside. Ms Sparks also said that at previous events, the team have treated around 125 patients for free, which equates to a few thousand dollars worth of dental care.
Dentistry from the Heart began in Florida 14 years ago and holds around 300 national events every year. Patients must be aged 18 or over.
