Dental Work Could Hold The Key As Police Try To Identify Dismembered Body

Police attempting to identify a dismembered body believe that distinctive gold jewellery and expensive dental work could hold the key. The body was found by a cyclist on Corstorphine Hill in Edinburgh last week.

Current investigations show that the body was dumped in a shallow grave in the beauty spot after a woman was murdered. The police believe, from the post-mortem examination, that the body was cut up and other parts were buried in different places. The post-mortem examination suggests that the incident may have taken place up to six months ago.

Police are now appealing for information as they try to identify the victim. They believe that the woman was aged between 30 and 50 years old with a slim build and either blonde or light brown hair. Police officers believe that the jewellery she was wearing and her expensive dental work may help their search. She was wearing two gold rings, one with a daisy and the other heart-shaped. She also had a smile that demonstrated expensive cosmetic dental work.

Detective Chief Inspector Keith Hardie, from Police Scotland’s major investigation team, said that this was a murder case and police were actively looking for information and clues. He urged anyone who has any information to come forward and help the police with their investigations, so that they can identify the woman and piece together what happened.

Mr Hardie believes that the woman’s dental work could help to distinguish her and jog somebody’s memory. He said that she had “significant cosmetic dental work”, which would have cost a considerable amount of money; he added that police are looking into whether the treatment was carried out at home or abroad.

Mr Hardie finally stated that police were convinced that the woman had been a victim of assault and confirmed that all body parts had been recovered.
