Dental tourism booming in Romania
Studies have shown that Romania has become one of the most popular destinations for dental tourists.
Research shows that Romania is especially popular amongst dental patients from other European countries, including the UK, France, Spain and Scandinavian countries. The main attraction of travelling abroad for dental treatment is the cost; in many Eastern European countries, the fees can be less than half the price of treatment in the UK and tourists can combine their treatment with a holiday and still save money.
Romania has become popular because the practitioners and clinics have a good reputation; many of the dentists working in new clinics have a very high level of training and some have trained in Western European countries and America. As dental tourism has become more popular, new clinics have started to open in cities across the country and these are kitted out with all the latest technology and gadgets. Patients can also be treated much faster than in the UK, with many saying that they were put off having treatment in the UK because of waiting lists, as well as high costs.
Many dentists in Romania have also started to introduce dental payment plans, which make treatment even more affordable.
Dental tourism has become increasingly popular in several countries, as people living in more expensive countries look for cheaper ways to get the dental treatment they need; Eastern European countries have become very popular with tourists from other European countries, Mexico and other Central and South American countries have become popular with American and Canadian patients and Asian countries have attracted many Australian tourists.
