A dental therapist and her husband have taken over a family-run dental practice in South Yorkshire thanks to financial support from the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Dental therapist Laura Wright and her partner, dentist Luke Ritucchi, have successfully taken over the reigns at the Southfield Dental Practice in Thorne. The practice was previously run by Laura’s father David, who is also a dentist.

Speaking about the acquisition, Laura said that her and Luke are delighted to take over the family practice and everyone is excited about the future. Laura has worked at the surgery for six years and Luke has worked alongside David since 2012, so it seemed a natural progression to become the new owners. The couple know the ins and outs of the practice and they an excellent relationship with their colleagues and patients.

The takeover was made possible thanks to a loan from the Royal Bank of Scotland. Neil Brownrigg, healthcare manager, said that it was great to see Laura and Luke being able to take over the family business and everyone at RBS wishes them every success for the future.

The practice, which is located on Southfield Road, offers mainly NHS services. However there are additional treatments available, including teeth whitening.
