Dental team preparing for charity zip slide

Members of staff from an Oakham dental practice are preparing to take on a 400 metre long charity zip slide to raise money for charity.

Three dental nurses and the practice manager from West Road Dental Practice will scale the heights and slide 400 metres on a zip wire to raise funds for Bridge2Aid. The zip slide challenge will take place at Xscape in Milton Keynes next month.

Lesley Goodrick, practice manager, said that the team was eager to do something that would benefit people in need; as they work in the dental industry, they wanted to help people who do not have access to basic dental care.

Bridge2Aid is a charity that raises money for people living in Tanzania; access to dental care in Tanzania is very poor and very few people are able to see a trained dentist. The charity funds volunteer trips to the country, training for dentists in Tanzania and equipment and supplies for dental clinics and individuals.

The Oakham team say that they are looking forward to the zip wire challenge and hope to raise as much money as possible for Bridge2Aid. All donations will be gratefully received.
