Sample News Big

Dental students from Griffith University on the Gold Coast visited children at Lightning Ridge Central School to carry out examinations and chat to the children about oral health.

The group of eight students from the School of Dentistry and Oral Health at Griffith University are in their final year and will soon qualify as dentists. The students are currently based at Brewarrina Dental Clinic and different groups of eight students visit schools in the local area.

The students examined primary schoolchildren last week and they will return later this week to examine secondary school pupils. Any children that require further treatment will be taken by bus to Brewarrina Dental Clinic. Brewarrina Dental Clinic provides free dental treatment to children under the age of 18.

The service provided by the students from Griffith University is very valuable. Children are able to learn about oral health and they are given regular examinations, which help to reduce the risk of oral health problems.
