Dental charity Bridge2Aid was initially founded to change the lives of those less fortunate in Tanzania. The charity trains local healthcare workers with the aim to deliver safe emergency dental care. Just 1 trained dentist can serve up to 10,000 people.

More than 70% of the world’s population has no access to safe emergency dental care. Bridge2Aid aims to change this through fundraisers and donations. They have already delivered such in-demand care to over 5 million people in Tanzania.

Its founder, Ian Wilson, is a senior clinician and regional clinical director at Dental Partners. All Dental Partners support Bridge2Aid.

Dental Partners is now the charity’s second largest supporter. Other big contributing corporate partners include Acacia Mining, Dental Design and My Dentist.

All Dental Partners practices support the charity, and have so far fundraised £12,600 of their £16,000 target for this year.

This achievement was boosted by Chief Executive Neil Lloyd offering up paella evenings at auction to the other clinics at The Dental Partners Annual Conference.

His efforts alone raised £500 for the charity. Neil said: “Supporting the great work Bridge2Aid does is hugely important to Dental Partners as it chimes with our ethos of providing the best dental care to as many people as possible.”
