Dental Nurse Following in Her Father’s Footsteps

Georgia Worsley has her father to thank for her career choice; 18-year-old Georgia decided to train as a dental nurse after being inspired by her dad, John, a dentist.

Georgia has already completed her Level 2 and Level 3 dental nursing qualifications and she is nearing the end of her Level 4 award in radiography; the courses are ran by Training 2000.

Georgia works alongside her father, John, the owner of the John Worsley Dental Practice in Barrow. Georgia chose to pursue the apprenticeship pathway because she enjoys the hands-on work and said that she is able to learn a vast amount from her dad. Georgia said that she loves working with her dad everyday, although it is a little confusing having to call him John while they are at work.

Georgia said that her dad had given her valuable advice when she was considering the route she wanted to take and she is pleased she chose to do an apprenticeship, as it has enabled her to gain valuable experience, as well as earn some money while she studies.

Georgia said that her aim is to become a dental hygienist and she is planning to do a course in oral health education when she finishes her exams.

John Worsley said that it was been lovely working alongside his daughter and he has noticed that she has really grown in confidence and is eager to learn all the time; he added that he is very proud of her and sure that she will be a great success in the future.
