A dental duo from RAF Coningsby has swapped dental instruments for cooking utensils to raise money for a prostate cancer charity.

Flight Lieutenant Beth Fray and Corporal Siobhan Foley, from the Dental Centre at RAF Coningsby, downed their dental instruments to bake cupcakes in order to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. The pair sold more than 200 cupcakes, raising more than £238 for the charity.

Flight Lieutenant Beth Fray is also preparing to run the London Marathon next month and she has a fundraising target of £2000.

Flt Lt Fray said that she wanted to raise money for the charity because her grandfather and uncle suffered from the disease.

The pair thanked everyone who had helped out with the bake sale and all those who donated to the charity, which provides valuable support for patients with prostate cancer and their families. Prostate cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer and the most common male cancer, affecting more than 40,000 men each year in the UK.
