The owners of a dental practice in Gorse Hill say they are optimistic about the future after buying a surgery just before the pandemic hit.

Ruchi and Salil Sood took over the practice on Cricklade Road in February 2020 just before the Covid-19 crisis emerged and surgeries were forced to shut for several weeks.

Despite the challenges of navigating lockdowns and working under restrictions, the duo is hopeful for the future.

Ruchi is encouraging patients to come back to dental practices and said that patients should feel safe and secure when visiting their local clinics.

Dental practices have implemented a raft of measures to keep staff and patients safe and many are now able to offer a wider range of services and provide more appointments.

Dentists all over the country are seeing patients who have struggled with dental problems during the crisis and they are eager to help those who need treatment.

Ruchi explained that it has been difficult to keep up with routine appointments, but stressed that going to the dentist was beneficial for all patients, including those who don’t have any obvious signs of decay or gum disease.

Ruchi said that the practice had a backlog of patients after the lockdown, but the team has worked long hours to clear treatment backlogs and appointments are now available for all patients.
