Dental Costs Fall in Ireland

A recent survey has revealed that health and dental costs in Ireland have fallen.

According to the Avantis Global Health and Dental Price Index, health and dental fees have fallen by an average of between 3 and 10 percent over the course of the last six months in Ireland. In some cases, treatment costs fell by up to 21 percent

The results of the survey also revealed that there was significant variation between prices for treatments in different areas of the country and different practices. The survey also showed that patients could save up to 50 percent by travelling abroad for treatment.

Despite the overall reduction in prices, some treatments are more expensive than they used to be and the costs of nose reconstruction surgery and laser eye surgery have both increased since spring.

Director of Avantis Health, Orla Fahy, said that overall the results of the survey show a modest decrease in medical and dental costs, which are reflective of the turbulent economic situation at the moment.
