A recent survey by Denplan has revealed that most employees who are not currently entitled to dental benefits would consider taking them up if the offer was available.

The poll revealed that 63% of employees who did not already have a dental plan would consider using one if the offer was made available by their employer.

The 2103 Dental Benefit Survey involved 503 benefits professionals and more than 5,000 adults, suggested that 42% of employers who were currently reviewing the employee package they offered would consider adding dental benefits. Almost half of employers agreed that dental benefits would help to reduce time taken off sick and 69% of employers said that dental benefits would help to enhance the wellbeing of their employees.

Almost a quarter of employees agreed that accessing NHS dental services was a problem, which was impacting on their oral health.

Pam Whelan, from Denplan, said that the results of the survey show that healthcare and wellbeing remain priorities for employers, despite economic problems and spending cuts. The survey showed that more than a quarter of employers offered a dental plan as part of their employee benefits package.
