Darlington Dental Practice Helps Great North Run Participant Smash His Fundraising Target

Members of staff from a dental practice in Darlington have helped a local runner smash his fundraising target for completing the Great North Run by donating half of the total.

Darlington Dental Care has donated £500 to Mark Pinsent, an advertising executive who is running the race to raise money for the Clarke Lister Brain Haemorrhage Foundation. The race is taking place in September and Mark will be joining thousands of other runners pounding the pavements of Newcastle in aid of good causes.

Mark had initially set a goal of £1,000, but has since exceeded this total thanks to the dental team at Darlington Dental Care and other local businesses, friends and relatives. He is running the race to raise funds for a cause close to his heart. The Clarke Lister Brain Haemorrhage Foundation was set up by Claire Lister, who lost her son, Clarke, to a brain tumour when he was just 10 years old. The charity provides valuable support for people affected by tumours and haemorrhages and operates a weekly social gathering at Peterside’s Oakerside Community Centre.

Mark was extremely grateful for the donation from the dental team and is now training hard for the race. He has been overwhelmed by support and well-wishes, as well as monetary donations and is looking forward to taking part.
