A dentist from Cullercoats has returned to his native town to take over a popular practice. Graham Murphy, who has been working in South Shields for the last eight years, has taken the reins at Broadway Dental Practice. Graham has inherited the practice from Fin Godlington, who managed the clinic for 25 years.

Graham has already confirmed that he will be keeping on the existing staff members and he will also be recruiting a new nurse to join the team. He plans to expand the range of services on offer to include adult orthodontics and cosmetic treatments, such as tooth whitening.

Graham has always dreamed of owning his own practice, and the opportunity in his native town of Cullercoats was too tempting to turn down. After qualifying 11 years ago, Graham has spent eight years working in South Shields, and he is delighted to be moving back and taking over Broadway Dental Practice, which has an excellent reputation in the area.

As well as increasing the range of services, Graham is also keen to develop links with charities, including those that operate abroad, and he has plans to carry out a number of fundraising activities in the coming years.

The acquisition was made possible by RMT Healthcare, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Sintons Law Firm.

Graham praised the efforts of Fin Godlington, his predecessor, saying that he inherited a “well-established” clinic, which had been “very well managed” for the last 25 years. He is now excited about introducing new treatments and services and getting to know the team and the patients.
