Councillors set to decide on dental surgery plans

Wychavon Council’s planning committee is set to decide whether or not to give the green light to plans to change a semi-detached house into a dental practice.

The planning committee will meet today to discuss the plans, which would see a semi-detached house on Cheltenham Road into a dental surgery. The property on Cheltenham Road will not be changed in any way, according to the plans. The layout will be kept exactly the same, to create a reception area and waiting room, two treatment rooms, a staff room, an X-ray room and two decontamination rooms.

The only change that will be made to the site will be an increase in the size of the parking area; the outside space will be utilised more effectively to allow patients and staff to park outside the surgery.

It is hoped that the surgery will create jobs and improve access to dental services for local residents if the plans get the green light today.

The planning committee are also set to make a decision on plans to create a single storey office building on the Farncombe Estate. Announcements from the councillors are expected in the next few days.
