The trend for cosmetic enhancements is increasing dramatically, claims the Liverpool Echo.

Columnist Nick Peet commented that "makeover mania" had led him to consider improving his appearance.

He stated: "Instead of going under the knife I thought I’d focus on the one thing I desperately need but never had.

"A decent smile."

The journalist stated that he visited Pall Mall Dentistry and was treated to a pampering session and given teeth whitening treatments.

He claimed the results of his cosmetic dentistry have been "dazzling", although warned people not to attempt the treatment whilst drunk.

Mr Peet explained that performing the procedure after a few too many drinks could lead to an overly-brightened smile.

A British Dental Health Foundation survey sponsored by Listerine for the 2003 National Smile Week found that over two-thirds of people think that an attractive grin can help boost people’s confidence and alsoimprove their love life.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18472409-ADNFCR
