Cosmetic dentistry ‘doesn’t impress Coventry’

The trend of lunchtime cosmetic dentistry treatments may have hit it off with London business workers, but it has been slow to catch on in other cities.

At least that is the opinion of managing director Doug Squires from Coventry. He told the Coventry Telegraph that in the engineering world, it is less about how you look and more about what you can do.

"I’m sure there are sectors of the market that would probably welcome someone looking younger than they are but it’s not the world I live in," he said. "You’ve got to sell yourself, not a facade."

Tim Holmes, managing director of a design and marketing firm in Coventry, agreed. He claimed that it is celebrity culture which is affecting whether customers are influenced by "shiny white teeth".

However, despite Mr Squires and Mr Holmes’ comments, demand among business executives for cosmetic dentistry treatments is increasing, it has been claimed.

Merseyside dentist Ian Buckle recently told the Liverpool Daily Post that he has seen a large increase in the number of patients seeking treatment in order to impress in the boardroom.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18605645-ADNFCR
