Cosmetic Dentistry Booming In India
Cosmetic dentistry is booming in India, with dentists all over the country reporting significant increases in the number of patients visiting them with the aim of improving the aesthetic of their smile.
Ekta Chadha, from the Smile Studio, said that there has been a “substantial growth in the number of people seeking better dental health as well as having better teeth presentation.”
Shikha Giri, an implantologist from Seven Hills Hospital, said that cosmetic dentistry used to be associated with celebrities and the rich and famous, but this is no longer the case and cosmetic dentistry is more accessible than ever before. Giri said that the clinic sees patients of all ages from different walks of life.
The most popular treatment is tooth whitening or bleaching. This treatment is quick and it gives the smile an instant boost. Whitening is particularly popular with smokers who have suffered staining as a result of smoking or chewing tobacco and those who drink coffee and tea on a regular basis.
Veneers are another popular treatment, as more and more people seek to mimic the celebrity-style flawless white smile.
