Colgate to Launch Oral Health Month in September

Colgate has confirmed that it will be joining forces with the British Dental Association to launch Oral Health Month for the tenth time this September.

The campaign, which will run throughout the month of September, is designed to raise awareness of oral health issues and encourage people to take note of oral health and ensure they look after their teeth and gums.

The theme of the 2012 campaign will be Oral Health as part of Overall Health; recently, a number of studies have indicated links between oral health and general health, including an association between gum disease and inflammation that can increase the risk of strokes and heart disease.

The campaign will be covering subjects such as oral hygiene, diet and the importance of going to the dentist on a regular basis.

Dental practices across the UK will receive Oral Health Month packs, which contain educational materials and information about the campaign and Colgate will be hosting oral health roadshows in Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Cardiff, Reading, Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham and Bath.

Colgate is hoping to build on the success of the Oral Health Month campaign in the USA, which took place in June and was organised by the company.
