Coleraine man charged with dental surgery robbery

A man from Coleraine has been charged with theft after stealing a number of items from Boyd & Logue Dental Surgery on Lodge Road.

Derek Alan Kirk, 43, is believed to have taken more than £500 in cash, in addition to a prescription pad, a sharps box, a camera and flash and eight electric toothbrushes. The incident took place between 5pm on the 2^nd April and 8am on the 3^rd April.

Mr Kirk, of Lodge Road, Coleraine, has also been charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest by another on the 4^th April and possession of the class C drug, Pregabalin.

The defendant appeared in court via a video link from Maghaberry Prison and has been remanded in custody until the 13^th May. The prosecutor stated that the next hearing will be on the 21^st May.
