A Christchurch dental practice has tripled in size and created five new jobs thanks to a funding boost from Lloyds Bank.

After spending 26 years in rented premises, the owners of Robinson’s Dental Practice have been able to buy a new base on the High Street. Kate and Simon Robinson have tripled the size of the surgery and taken on five new members of staff after securing £720,000 from Lloyds Bank.

The new 3,000 square foot property boasts four treatment rooms, double the number of the previous surgery. The duo has hired new dentists, dental nurses and reception staff and the investment has also enabled the purchase of new dental chairs, X-ray units and contamination equipment.

Speaking about the move, Kate Robinson said that the husband and wife team had been looking to move for several years, but nothing had come up that suited the needs of the business. Having walked past the High Street premises every day on his way to work and always thought it would be a great base for a surgery, Simon was delighted to see that the building had been put up for sale. That was two years ago, and the pair hasn’t looked back. Relocating has given Kate and Simon the chance to expand, hire new members of staff and provide patients with additional services in a modern setting.

Relationship manager at Lloyds Bank, Craig Marsh, said that the relocation marks a “new chapter of investment,” which will enable the business to grow and evolve.
