Charitable dentist leaves the neon lights of Las Vegas behind to help people in need

Sample News Big

A Las Vegas dentist has been lured away from the neon lights of the enigmatic city to help people in need in countries like the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Dr Paul Phan, from Phantastic Dental Care, has offices in both Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, but has dedicated a lot of his time to volunteer projects over the last few years. After graduating from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry, Dr Phan started work at Gentle Dental Care. Just six months later, he took over the reins from owner and mentor, Dr Gregory Edwards and rebranded the office with a new name featuring his surname. He opened a second office a couple of years later.

After establishing himself in Las Vegas, Dr Phan was intrigued and enthused by the prospect of helping others. His mother moved to the US from Vietnam, and he always had a desire to volunteer. Over the past eight years, he has visited a number of countries supporting charity projects and helping to bring dentistry to remote areas where most people have never seen a dentist before. Dr Phan covers the cost of travel, and he frequently donates supplies and equipment. He has already visited Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines, and he now has ambitions to travel to Kenya and China.
