A host of celebrities tuned out to support a charity golf day organised by Elleven Dental.

Lewis Moody MBE and cricketer Ed Giddins were among those who pitted their wits against the greens and bunkers in aid of the charity Smile Train. The golf day took place on the 13th May at Buckinghamshire Golf Club.

The event was organised by clinical director Dr Sameer Patel and orthodontists Dr Anthony Lam and Dr Shivani Patel. The trio invited a host of friends and colleagues to take part in the day, which was great fun and a perfect way to raise money for a good cause.

Competitors participated in an 18 hole play-off, as well as a number of other activities including ‘Beat the Pro’. They were also invited to attend dinner and bid for incredible prizes in an auction. Up for grabs were box tickets to see the Manic Street Preachers at the Royal Albert Hall and the chance to watch the Monaco Grand Prix live.

In total, the event raised more than £33,000 for Smile Train. The charity supports children affected by cleft lip and palate in developing countries. The aim is to minimise the impact on quality of life in children living in poorer countries and provide advanced training for local doctors so that they offer the kind of treatments we take for granted in the UK.

Dr Sameer Patel said that the golf day was a huge success and thanked everyone who got involved and showed their support for Smile Train.
