CDA: ‘Sports pros, wear mouthguards!’

Sample News Big

The Canadian Dental Association has advised sports men and women to protect their teeth and gums with a mouthguard.

The association (CDA) claimed that gumshields can often prevent face, lips, jaw and tongue injuries.

It also said that everyone who takes part in sports is at risk of oral injury and should wear a guard while participating in their chosen hobby.

CDA president Dr Don Friedlander told young athletes that gumshields are part of “a winner’s game” and encouraged them to protect themselves while playing sport.

Dental, jaw and facial damage can be painful, debilitating and can leave athletes on the sidelines for months.
