The California Dental Association has announced the recipients of its annual grant program.

More than 74 organizations made applications for funding from the association (CDA) but only five were selected as grant recipients by CDA’s Foundation’s Grant Selection Committee and Board of Directors.

Dr Lindsey Robinson, chair of CDA Foundation, said that it was difficult to choose between so many admirable community dental organizations.

She added that the ones that were selected had stood at and were the most likely to improve dental care among California’s low-income communities.

The organizations to benefit from this year grants are St Mary’s Interfaith Community Services (which provides free dentistry to uninsured and low-income people in Stockton), UCSD Student-Run Free Clinic Project, Ravenswood Family Health Center, Santa Ynez Valley People Helping People (which support’s the Children’s Dental Fund Project), Alameda County Dental Society Dental Health Foundation, and the California Dental Association Foundation.
