Buses used to inform people about NHS services in Ilkley

Sample News Big

Buses are being used to help people find information about their local NHS dental services in the Ilkley area.

The scheme is being run by NHS Bradford and Airedale in a bid to make local people aware of the services available to them. The buses, which travel throughout Bradford District, will have posters on the side and back, with information about getting to and from local NHS dental practices.

The programme has been launched to make people aware that they don’t have to travel for miles to see a dentist; most people assume that it’s very difficult to reach an NHS dentist, especially if they don’t drive, but these new messages will help them to realise the services are available on their doorstep.

Over the last two years, the local Primary Care Trust has been working to improve access to NHS dentists in the area; since then, new practices have opened in Ilkley and in other areas in the district and plans have recently been revealed to open a new surgery near Bradford City’s football ground. The new surgeries have provided hundreds of new NHS places and this has put an end to waiting lists for NHS treatment in the area. Patients that are looking to join an NHS practice should contact NHS Bradford.
