Leading health insurance company, Bupa has announced the launch of a standalone dental insurance product following an increase in demand for dental insurance policies.

Bupa will offer two levels of cover for customers wishing to take out dental insurance, Dental Cover 10 and Dental Cover 20. Dental Cover 10 offers refunds for NHS treatment and cover for oral cancer, while Dental Cover 20 offers cover for private dental visits and up to £150 per year for routine dental treatments; the policy has a cap of £750 per year for private dental treatment.

Sue Moore, marketing and customer development director for Bupa Health & Wellbeing, said that Bupa has decided to create a new dental insurance product as a result of customer feedback and a demand for policies which provide cover for dental treatment alone.

Dental insurance has become more popular as people look for ways to save money on treatment and keep surprise costs at bay. Insurance offers consumers peace of mind and prevents them from being faced with huge bills which they cannot afford. There has also been an increase in the number of employers offering dental insurance as part of the employee benefits package.
