Bupa is continuing to expand its portfolio of dental clinics across the UK after acquiring a historic dental practice in Halifax. The Old Church Dental Practice, which is located in a former church, has been acquired by the growing dental chain.

This quirky dental practice is housed in a listed building and boasts exposed stonework and eye-catching stained glass windows, which treat dental patients to a truly unique experience. Previous owner Prem Sehmi is an entrepreneur who runs several dental businesses, including Quick Straight Teeth and Boutique Whitening. The deal with Bupa is rumoured to be worth a seven-figure sum. Speaking of the sale, Prem described the practice as “special” and said that it was a wonderful experience converting the building into a modern dental practice. Initially, some people suggested that it was odd to have a forward-thinking business located within a rustic structure, but the project was hugely exciting and rewarding for Prem and his team.

Prem said that he was sure that the practice would be in good hands with Bupa and wished the Bupa team all the best for the future. The acquisition was overseen by Leeds-based law firm FTA Law. Managing director, Thomas Coates, said that the practice has the “wow factor” and added that it will make a “fine addition to the Bupa stable and serve as a real showpiece for them in the North of England.”
