A dental team from Brooklands are donning pink this October to lend support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The team at Maple Road Dental Practice will be dressing in pink and hosting a day of fun-filled activities to raise awareness of breast cancer and support Breast Cancer Care.

There will be a cake sale, a raffle and fancy dress and all the proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Care, a charity, which supports breast cancer patients and their families. Prizes up for grabs include a large cake in the shape of a bra and various electric toothbrushes.

The team has been inspired to support the cause by dental nurse, Christine Deakin; Christine’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, but fortunately, it was spotted early and she had a successful lumpectomy procedure and is now fighting fit.

Ian Hunt, practice director, said that everyone is invited to join in the fun and the team is hoping to raise lots of money for a very worthwhile cause. As well as raising money through the raffle and cake sale, the practice will also donate £1 to the pot for every patient who dresses in pink.
