Bright smiles at the Oscars
Cosmetic dental treatments are just one of the pampering procedures Oscars nominees took this weekend to prepare for the big event.
The Daily Mail reports that in order to achieve the dazzling Hollywood smile, actors and actresses invest in a one-hour power bleaching treatment.
"I’ve done hundreds of one-hour whitenings this week," claimed Hollywood dentist Kevin Sands. "I can take off a whole year of coffee stains. People have even asked me to put diamonds in their teeth."
According to Dr Sands, the star in question had the jewels chauffeured over from Harry Winston jewellers in LA.
The newspaper reports that for a one-hour whitening procedure, a whitening gel is applied to the patient’s teeth before a light is shone on to the surface to help it become fully absorbed.
Teeth whitening can be a simpler and cheaper alternative to cosmetic surgery, The White Teeth Company has claimed.
White teeth are associated with youth and can also helpdistract attention from fine lines around the mouth, the firm explained.
