Brighouse dental foundation raises funds for community minibus

A dental foundation based in Brighouse has joined forces with another local charity to raise funds for a brand new community minibus.

The Town Hall Foundation, which is the charitable wing of Town Hall Dental, partnered with Focus4Hope to invest in a vehicle, which will help both charities to carry out their work more effectively and improve the lives of local people. As well as supporting projects run by the Town Hall Foundation and Focus4Hope, a charity that provides essential services for homeless people, the van will also travel to Calais in November to aid refugees.

The Calderdale charities embarked on a fundraising mission nine months ago, and they successfully raised over £10,000. The majority of the donations came in the form of small, individual offerings, but the cause was also supported by local businesses. Teams participated in a host of activities and events to hit the target, with fearless individuals taking on a skydive and a charity rock climb.

The founder of the Town Hall Foundation, Rachel Dilley, said that the minibus will be a “huge help” for the foundation, but also for other community initiatives and groups operating in the local area. Several charities are working together to reach out to “isolated and vulnerable” people and Rachel is hoping that the minibus will “open up the world to them again.”

Now that the minibus is up and running, the foundation is encouraging any local charities or community ventures that would be interested in making use of it to get in touch.
