Brides-to-be ‘seek Botox’
Women are going to extreme lengths in preparation for their wedding day, reports the Guardian.
According to the newspaper, brides-to-be are visiting wedding forums on the internet and discussing beauty treatments and diet techniques to look their best for their big day.
"One member offers to share her 20-page word document of possible hairstyles, featuring 200 pictures," the article states. "Others ask about Botox, cosmetic surgery and hair extensions."
The newspaper cites a study published in Newsweek magazine, which highlighted the growing trend of engaged women seeking cosmetic dentistry, Botox injections and extreme diets.
In addition, 70 per cent of American brides-to-be intended to lose over 20 lb (9 kg) before they got married.
Hollywood actress Katherine Heigl, the star of Grey’s Anatomy and new film 27 Dresses, famously sought cosmetic dentistry treatment in preparation for her wedding last year.
The 29-year-old wore invisible braces as she went down the aisle, claiming she wanted her teeth to be straight in her wedding photographs, reports Sky Showbiz.Join this Discussion
