A dental team from Brentwood will take part in the Star Walk in memory of their colleague who sadly died earlier this year.

The team from Hutton Village Dental Practice will take part in the 10 kilometre walk in Romford on Saturday July 6th to raise money for St Francis Hospice and pay tribute to their colleague, Ali Henry, who sadly passed away in January this year; Ali battled cancer and was cared for by the staff at the hospice in her final months.

Ali had worked at the dental practice for more than 25 years and she was a very popular figure in the local community.

Dental nurse, Elaine Miller, who is taking part in the Star Walk, said that the hospice nurses enabled Ali to get the treatment and care she needed at home and this was a blessing, as Ali had wanted to spend as long as possible in her own home. When her condition deteriorated, Ali moved to the hospice in Havering-atte-Bower and was looked after wonderfully by the team in her final days. Elaine said that the walk will enable the practice to raise money for the hospice and also to remember Ali.

The event is attracted to draw large crowds, with live music and entertainment from Faces of Disco, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, on offer.
