A group of students from Bradford has been invited to participate in a prestigious dentistry programme.

The group of eager students has been chosen to experience the Reach for Excellence scheme, which is designed to give students who are considering a career in dentistry a taste of life as a dentist. Seven students from sixth-form colleges in Bradford will join other students from West Yorkshire at the Becoming a Dentist event, which is run by Leeds Dental Institute and Aim Higher Bradford.

The event, which will take place at the dental school at the University of Leeds, will enable young people to see what a career in dentistry involves and determine whether or not a dental career would suit them. During the day, students will be invited to talk to staff at the university and learn about dentistry as a career, learn how to make their university application stand out and find out what the application process involves.

Stephie Quigley, from Aim Higher Bradford said that the course will give students a head start when it comes to applying for dental places; competition is fierce and it is important that students know how to make their application stand out from other applications.

The Reach for Excellence scheme has been designed to help young people realise their ambitions and dreams and give them the support and information they need to complete their university applications.
