Bradford Dentist Completes Cycle Challenge For Charity

Sample News Big

A dentist from Bradford has successfully completed a gruelling cycle challenge to raise money for dental charity, Bridge2Aid.

Mark Ray from Ravat and Ray cycled a total of 207 kilometres to raise money for the British charity, which provides dental care and equipment for people living in Tanzania.

Mark cycled around Ravat and Ray’s nine practices, which are located around Yorkshire and Lancashire, on Thursday September 20th.

Bridge2Aid supports training schemes in Tanzania and volunteers regularly travel out to East Africa to provide dental care to hundreds of people, most of whom have never seen a dentist. Dentists train clinical officers so that they can continue to treat patients after the UK dentists have left. The charity has also established a long-term scheme to support people affected by leprosy at the Bukumbi Care Centre.

The Bradford practice also donated £500 to Compass Bridge, a local charity, which provides young people from deprived backgrounds with an alternative form of education and supports their development.
